RACE COURSE

This is great single and double track off-road running experience. The race will start in the "Bottoms Field" (required for spacing) but will soon lead into the woods. The terrain is made up of a little bit of everything, steep hills, rolling hills, single track, double track, with some technical sections (rocks and roots).

7.8 Milers:  We’ll run this course in a counter-clockwise direction.

Course will start in the "bottoms field" and soon lead into the Scenic Unicoi State Park Mountain Bike Trails (Course is 100% run on the Mountain Bike Trails). Both distances will stay together until 3.0 miles (that will be the course split)... the 7.8 milers will turn hard right and begin a short "2 way traffic" section. The 7.8 milers will stay on the mountain bike trail continuing in a counter-clockwise direction around a loop until they get back to the "2 way traffic section" staying straight back to the bottoms field where the race will finish. This course has some hilly "take your breath away" climbs!

3.5 Milers:  We’ll run this course in a counter-clockwise direction.

Course will start in the "bottoms field" and soon lead into the Scenic Unicoi State Park Mountain Bike Trails (Course is 100% run on the Mountain Bike Trails). Both distances will stay together until 3.0 miles (that will be the course split)... the 3.5 milers will turn hard left and back to the bottoms field where the race will finish. This course has some hilly "take your breath away" climbs!

The course is beautiful and offers something for every runner truly wishing to ´ditch the city´. Nestled in the woods of suburban Atlanta lies a true gem. Well groomed system of trails with gentle slopes and beautiful scenery will leave you breathless (if that doesn´t, the 7.8/3.5 miles will). Once you descend into the woods, you will forget your in the city. As a matter of fact, you will come to know why we follow the creed ´Ditch the City´.
