2018 Series Points Long Course

2018 Series Points Short Course

Here´s the skinny… we are using a "point system" to reward and separate the top finishers from the pack - the point system is similar to a NASCAR points system or possibly other "points series races" around the way in trail running, mountain biking or other similar athletic events. The Georgia State Parks Trail Running points series will be tracked ⁄ recorded by our staff throughout the 2017 calendar - starting with the Iron Hill Trail Running Race At Red Top Mountain State Park and finishing with the Georgia State Parks Trail Running Race at Fort Yargo State Park. In order to qualify for the Championship you must enter 3 of the 4 events. If there is a tie at the end of the series in any category we will determine winner by fastest overall time (Georgia State Parks Trail Run - Victoria Bryant State Park Course) - if there is still a tie we will determine winner by rock, paper, scissors! Your race age will be as of October 31, 2017 (last month of the series - that will keep you consistent for the entire series in the same age category). For any of the Georgia State Parks Trail Running Races where there are two distances in one day (Example: 3.1 ⁄ 6.2 Mile) you may enter either of the two distances to qualify for the Georgia State Parks Trail Running Series Points! We will be awarding "Series Winners" in both our long and short distance races this year (please note series points will not be switched from long to short or short to long distances).
