Dirty Spokes Trail Running Series 2011!

We are excited to bring you the Dirty Spokes Trail Running Series 2011 (these races are not part of the XTERRA Georgia, XTERRA Alabama or XTERRA North Carolina Trail Race Series)! The 7 race series will begin in February and go through July! We will be offering "Dri-Fit Technical" shirts at each of our trail running races this year! That´s right a $25.00 value with your race registration! No guarantee of a t-shirt with late or race day registration.

The Dirty Spokes Trail Running Series 2010 will consist of 7 races (for information on each of these races within the series please check the individual web-pages):

July 16, 2011 - "Sawnee Mountain" - 3.5 Mi Trail Run

Here´s the skinny… we are using a "point system" to reward and separate the top finishers from the pack - the point system is similar to a NASCAR points system or possibly other "points series races" around the way in trail running, mountain biking or other similar athletic events. The Dirty Spokes Trail Running points series will be tracked ⁄ recorded by our staff throughout the 2011 calendar - starting with the Dirty Spokes Trail Race At Heritage Park and finishing with the Dirty Spokes Trail Running Race at Sawnee Mountain. In order to qualify for the Championship you must enter 5 of the 7 events. If there is a tie at the end of the series in any category we will determine winner by fastest overall time (Dirty Spokes Trail Run - Sawnee Mountain course) - if there is still a tie we will determine winner by rock, paper, scissors! Your race age will be as of July 31, 2011 (last month of the series - that will keep you consistent for the entire series in the same age category) For any of the Dirty Spokes Trail Running Races where there are two distances in one day (Example: 3.1 ⁄ 6.2 Mile) you must enter the longer of the two distances to qualify for the Dirty Spokes Trail Running Series Points..

We are pleased to offer the following categories: 14&U, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70&U.

After the 5th race of the series (Dirty Spokes Central Park Trail Run) if you are top 7 in total series points in your category and have raced in 6 of the 6 races to date we will comp your entry to the series finale (how cool is that)! In order to receive ⁄ take us up on this you must mail a registration form in and write "COMP TOP 7" at the top (we will confirm with our records and process your registration). If you register on race day you will not receive this offer.

  7 Place - 9 Points
  8 Place - 8 Points
  9 Place - 7 Points
10 Place - 6 Points
11 Place - 5 Points
12 Place - 4 Points
13 Place - 3 Points
14 Place - 2 Points
15 Place & Up - 1 Point

*Series awards will be presented at the Dirty Spokes Trail Running Race at Sawnee Mountain; winners must be present as awards will not be mailed.
