This is a great single and double track off-road running experience. The race will start on the street (required for spacing) but will soon lead into the woods. The terrain is made up of a little bit of everything, rolling hills, single track, double track, roots with some technical sections. The course is beautiful and offers something for every runner truly wishing to ´ditch the city´. Nestled in the woods of suburban Atlanta lies a true gem. Well groomed system of trails with gentle slopes and beautiful scenery will leave you breathless (if that doesn't, the 5 / 13.1 ⁄ 26.2 miles will). Once you descend into the woods, you will forget your in the city. As a matter of fact, you will come to know why we follow the creed ´Ditch the City´. Half marathon course will be 1 lap ⁄ full marathon course will be 2 laps!

5Mi Race Course

The race will also start on the street (required for spacing)... we will be on the road for the first .25 miles and then just past the mountain bike parking lot we will tap into the sweet single track trails! We will run the same direction and same route as the 21K/42K (following the outer loop in a clockwise direction) to 3 step hill... we will enter 3 step hill and approx. .2 into 3 step hill we will turn hard right onto the inner loop (where the inner loop and outer loop get within 10 feet of each other). We will follow the inner loop back to the first dirt road. Turn right on dirt road (boys home road) for 100 yards then turn left back onto the outer loop and then back track (two way traffic) to start.

1.50 Wil A Way Road Crossing (water), 5.0 Fire Road Crossing (water / gatorade / gel packets), 10.15 Entrance B Asphalt Road Crossing (water), 13.1 (water / drop station for 42K runners)... please note at each of these stations we will have trash cans located just beyond the station... please  help us keep the trails clean by putting the "gel packets" and "cups" in the trash cans.

Dirty Spokes will be handing out medals and prizes to our overall top 3 male and female finishers for each race. We will also be handing out medals to our top 3 male and female finishers in each age group (14&U, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75&U) – you must be present to receive your medal we will not mail them to you.
