We´re excited to present the 3rd Annual Red Top Roaster 9.9 Mile ⁄ 3.1 Mile Trail Race at Red Top Mountain State Park. Race will start ⁄ finish in the parking lot of the Red Top Mountain State Park Lodge.

PACKET PICKUP
Packet pickup will be the morning of the race starting at 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Race starts at 8:00 a.m. SHARP!
RACE COURSE
The race will start in the Red Top Mountain State Park Lodge Parking Lot (required for spacing) and will soon lead into the woods. The terrain is made up of a little bit of everything, rolling hills, double track, minimal roots and rocks (running surface is very forgiving). The race will utilize the Sweet Gum Trail, Homestead Trail, Campground Trail, Iron Hill Trail and Visitor Center Loop Trail. The course is beautiful and offers something for every runner truly wishing to ´ditch the city´. This course sets up well for anyone interested in trail running but has never experienced one.
From the Park Office (old lodge) go to kiosk at parking lot entrance follow Sweet Gum Trail (red) to Homestead Trail (yellow) 5K turns left across road and 15K turns right....
3.1 Mile
cross road and continue on Sweet Gum⁄Homestead Trail take R onto Homestead Trail (yellow) to the Visitor Center. Go through the parking lot, past the tennis courts to Visitor Center Loop (green) go to Sweet Gum Trail (red) and turn R to Sweet Gum⁄Homestead Trail. Turn R on Sweet Gum Trail (red) to kiosk (parking lot of Park Office) make a hard R onto Lakeside Trail (paved trail) when Lakeside splits stay L (around field) back to the Park Office
9.9 Mile
...after turning R on to Homestead Trail (yellow) take the next L (around loop) after doing loop turn left and cross street...follow 5K directions to kiosk (parking lot of Park Office) go through parking lot to other kiosk to Sweet Gun Trail (red) to Homestead Trail (yellow) turn R, take the next L and go around loop again and turn L (do not cross road) turn L again onto Sweet Gum Trail (red) back to Park Office parking lot. Go across parking lot to kiosk and stay left of kiosk onto Lakeside Trail (paved trail) when Lakeside splits stay L (around field) back to Park Office.
RACE CATEGORIES
Dirty Spokes will be handing out medals and prizes to our overall top 3 male and female finishers for each race. We will also be handing out medals to our top 3 male and female finishers in each age group (14 & Under, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70 & Over) – you must be present to receive your medal, we will not mail them to you.
AWARDS
Awards will be given out when we have enough finishers in to fill the categories. Medals will be given out to the top three finishers in each category. Walkers are encouraged to participate; however, you should be able to complete the 9.9 ⁄ 3.1 miles at a 16 minute mile pace or under to receive an official time. Official timing stops at 11:00:00.
