Dirty Spokes 9⁄6 Hour Mountain Bike Race
May 5, 2012
"Fort Yargo State Park"
Winder, Georgia
Dirty Spokes Productions, LLC is a southeastern athletic events company dedicated
to 9⁄6 Hour Mountain Bike Races. We are in our 7th year of putting on the Dirty Spokes
Fort Yargo State Park Endurance Mountain Bike Race and as enthusiastic as when we started it
(thanks to racers⁄riders like yourselves). We appreciate the support you all have given
our events for the last 6 years and look forward to seeing you out there again this year!
Who are the brains behind Dirty Spokes? We are mountain bike enthusiasts like the rest of you.
This event was designed for mountain bikers to have fun, be competitive and provide an endless
supply of great memories! No matter the level (beginner to expert) it is there for you. We are
not trying to re–invent the wheel just trying to perfect the roll. Dirty Spokes Productions,
LLC is excited to present our 9 and 6 hour mountain bike team relay race to you. We are glad you
are interested in the race and hope to see you there!
We had right at 400 registered participants last year at the Dirty Spokes 9⁄6 Hour Fort Yargo
Mountain Bike Race! They rode 1589 laps! 11 Miles per lap! Total = 17,479 Miles! Way to go!
Thanks for the feedback from the 2011 course lay out! 2012 course will be the exact same as last year!
It´s fast, fun and probably flows the best of any course we have had an opportunity to put together!
The idea behind the layout of this course is to hopefully get the individual and team times right at an
hour each or inside an hour (hopefully putting some strategy together for some of those teams to
get that 6th lap in the 6 hour race and potentially get the 7th in! Likewise in the 9 hour race try
to get that 9th lap and provide some opportunities to potentially getting a 10th lap if possible)!
We will start the race on the street same as we did this past year… you will be on the road for 1.2 miles
(on the asphalt) then we will tap into the trail right at the mountain bike parking lot (Entrance "A")…
this puts the first lap about 10.25 miles in length (fastest lap will typically be on this first lap)!
Giant thanks to the Yargo Area Bike Association (YABA) for the time and energy they have put into maintaining
these trails! If you haven't ridden there ⁄ you're gonna love it! If you have ridden there you know
what we mean!

leave 10x10 tents ⁄ pit areas set up the night before).
TIMING:
We will be doing chip timing RFID Timing System (each participant will receive their own

correspond to your name and bib number). At the end of the race we will collect your
timing chip back (after you cross the finish line). If for some reason you are unable to
finish the event we will still need to collect your timing chip (you will be billed $35.00

RACE COURSE / GPS Data:
As each of you know the Yargo Area Bike Association (YABA) has done a great job with
these trails over the last year and they are gonna be fun! The course will be right
at 11.0 miles per lap. Course should be very fast and flowing (check our site for
GPS data): Click here for GPS Data
(trying to set it up so the lap times are inside an hour per lap)... Course will consist
of 90% outer loop (no monster mile or horseshoe drop, bypass 3 step hill, creek crossing
will still be in the race – YABA has gone down to the creek crossing and blasted the algae
off the granite bottom – please still use caution going through this section).

Awards will be given out when we have enough finishers in to fill the categories. Medals and prizes will
be given out to the top three finishers in each category. Expert Cash Pay Out and Fastest Lap Cash Pay Out
Sponsored By IBEX Bikes! Female Cash Pay Out Sponsored By Spin Lite Cycles!
