Course will start on the asphalt road (near the track) at Fowler Park and soon lead onto the Big Creek Greenway Trail (Concrete / Boardwalk Trail)! The Half Marathon runners will run through the parking lot (at Fowler Park) down to the Greenway. Once at the Greenway the race route will turn right, go out to the 3.45 mile mark and turn around. The race will go back down the Greenway to the 10.0 mile mark then turn around and head back to the finish area! The running surface is a mixture of concrete and boardwalk (flat, smooth and fast)! The course is beautiful and offers something for every runner truly wishing to "ditch the city".
Please Note: We know everyone wants to have a great start for the race! We are asking you to line up according to your ability level. We will have signage for lining up in approximate minute per mile groups from 7:00 and under to 14:00 minute miles and over. This will help with the start of the race and thinning out the crowds before hitting the concrete greenway.
We will be handing out medals and prizes to our overall top 3 male and top 3 female finishers for each race as well as overall male and female masters winners. We will also be handing out medals to our top 3 male and female finishers in each age group (14&U, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70&U) – you must be present to receive your medal we will not mail them to you.
Awards will be given out when we have enough finishers in to fill the categories. Medals will be given out to the top three finishers in each category. Walkers are encouraged to participate; however, you should be able to complete the 13.1 miles at a 16 minute mile pace or under to receive an official time.
Your safety and overall experience is important to us...
