RACE COURSE

8.55 - GPS unit measures course at 8.14 miles; Calibrated Bicycle Computer "wheel" measures course at 8.55 miles. Please note GPS Units do not capture every twist and turn in the woods as bicycle wheel does roll every twist and turn. Race will start on the asphalt near picnic shelter #5 then lead into the woods (course will be run in a "counterclockwise direction" opposite of the "Thrill In The Hills 21K/42K Trail Run"). From the asphalt you will enter the trail running down towards the lake when you get to the wooden bridge you will turn left and cross it after you cross the wooden bridge you will stay left up to the gas pipeline then turn left again (.90 miles at the gas pipeline) and follow it down towards the lake - stay along the lake until the 2.0 mile mark... (at the 2.0 mile mark 8.55 milers and 3.45 milers split) 8.55 milers stay straight down the hill to the outer loop. Continue on the outer loop following the sweet single track (no monster mile, no three step hill and no horse shoe drop) until you reach the start / finish area of the race (picnic shelter #5). This course and venue is one of our favorites! This event will start in entrance "A" (main entrance at Fort Yargo State Park). When you enter the park drive straight towards the back and we will start and finish the event at picnic shelter #5.

3.45 - Course Description: GPS unit measures course at 3.43 miles; Calibrated Bicycle Computer "wheel" measures course at 3.45 miles. Please note GPS Units do not capture every twist and turn in the woods as bicycle wheel does roll every twist and turn. Race will start on the asphalt near picnic shelter #5 then lead into the woods. The trail running surface is very easy to navigate minimal roots and rocks and the trail is about 5-7 feet wide. From the asphalt you will enter the trail running down towards the lake when you get to the wooden bridge you will turn left and cross it after you cross the wooden bridge you will stay left up to the gas pipeline then turn left again (.90 miles at the gas pipeline) and follow it down towards the lake - turn right at the dam... 2.0 mile mark (8.55 milers and 3.45 milers stay together until the 2.0 mile mark) 3.45 milers turn hard right up the hill to the gas pipeline (top of hill 2.3 miles) turn hard right and follow the gas pipeline all the way back down to the trail used to start the race... turn right and head back to the wooden bridge - cross over the wooden bridge (3.0 miles) then right again after the wooden bridge to the start / finish area (race will be run in a "clockwise direction"). This course and venue is one of our favorites! This event will start in entrance "A" (main entrance at Fort Yargo State Park). When you enter the park drive straight towards the back and we will start and finish the event at picnic shelter #5.
