- Georgia Off-Road Duathlon Series 2011! -

The Georgia Off-Road Duathlon Series 2011 will consist of three races – the first race of the series will be the Dirty Spokes Duathlon At Fort Yargo State Park (March 12th, 2011), the second race of the series will be the Dirty Spokes Duathlon At Tribble Mill (April 16th, 2011), and the Series Finale will be the Dirty Spokes Duathlon At Big Creek (May 14th, 2011). Series points will be earned at each event and awards will be presented to the top 3 finishers in each age division.*

Here´s the skinny… we are using a "point system" to reward and separate the top finishers from the pack - the point system is similar to a NASCAR points system or possibly other "points series races" around the way in mountain biking or other similar athletic events. The Georgia Off-Road Duathlon points series will be tracked ⁄ recorded by our staff throughout the 2011 calendar - starting with the Dirty Spokes Duathlon at Fort Yargo State Park and ending with the Series Finale at the Dirty Spokes Duathlon At Big Creek. In order to qualify for the Championship you ⁄ your team must enter 2 of the 3 events. You may race as a solo rider or as a team (in order to quality for Championship Points Series you must race in all (2 of 3) of the races in the SAME discipline ⁄ category ⁄ teams must consist of the same people no alternates). If there is a tie at the end of the series in any category we will determine winner by fastest overall time (Dirty Spokes Duathlon Big Creek course) - if there is still a tie we will determine winner by rock, paper, scissors!

We are pleased to offer twelve different categories for the Georgia Off-Road Duathlon Series. Categories are as follows:

Teams: Each person must do at least one segment of the race (run and⁄or bike).
Team format will be the same as the individual races (run–bike–run or bike–run–bike pending race format)…

1 Place - 15 Points
2 Place - 14 Points
3 Place - 13 Points
4 Place - 12 Points
5 Place - 11 Points
6 Place - 10 Points
7 Place - 9 Points
8 Place - 8 Points
9 Place - 7 Points
10 Place - 6 Points
11 Place - 5 Points
12 Place - 4 Points
13 Place - 3 Points
14 Place - 2 Points
15 Place & Up - 1 Point
*Series awards will be presented at the Dirty Spokes Duathlon - Big Creek on May 14th; winners must be present as awards will not be mailed.
