We´re excited to present the 2nd Annual Chateau Elan Muscadine 5.5/2.8 Mile Vineyard and Trail Running Race! Packet pickup will be the morning of the race starting at 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Race starts at 8:30 a.m. SHARP!
5.5 Mile Course: This is a great off road running experience! The race will start in the street (required for spacing) but will soon lead into and through the Chateau Elan Vineyards. The race course will go around the outer perimeter of the vineyards for .6 and then we will wind through the beautiful vineyards until 2.35 miles. At 2.35 miles that will be the split for the 2.8 milers and 5.5 milers. The 2.8 milers will stay straight on the gravel road back to the finish line and the 5.5 milers will turn hard left onto the dirt trail. At 2.7 Miles Turn Hard Right Onto the Asphalt Road. At 2.73 Miles Turn Hard Left Onto the Nature Trail (following yellow markings). At 3.05 Turn Hard Right Onto the Golf Cart Path. At 3.15 Turn Hard Right Onto the Street (short uphill). At 3.25 Take a Soft Right Back Onto the Dirt Trail. At 3.40 Turn Hard Left Onto a Gravel Road (downhill). At 3.43 Turn Hard Right Onto an Asphalt Road. At 3.50 Turn Hard Right Onto a Dirt Trail. At 3.54 Cross Street (Golf Cart Path). At 3.56 Turn Hard Right Down Towards the "Green" (Par 3 Golf Course) Then Hard Left Around the Pond. At 3.70 Turn Hard Right at the "Tee Box" (around the pond). At 4.0 Cross the Street. At 4.25 Turn Hard Left Onto the Street. At 4.3 Turn Hard Left Onto the Gravel Road. At 4.35 Turn Hard Right Off Gravel Onto Dirt Trail. At 4.45 Take a Soft Left Onto Asphalt (downhill). At 4.55 Take a Hard Left Onto Golf Cart Path. At 4.7 Take a Hard Left Onto the Wooded Trail (uphill). At 5.05 Take a Hard Right Onto Asphalt Road. At 5.07 Take a Hard Left Onto Dirt Trail. At 5.3 Take a Hard Left Onto Gravel Road (back around the beautiful vineyards). Stay on Gravel Road to the Finish at 5.5 Miles!

Dirty Spokes will be handing out medals and prizes to our overall top 3 male and female finishers for each race as well as our overall male and female masters winners. We will also be handing out medals to our top 3 male and female finishers in each age group (14&U, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75&U) – you must be present to receive your medal we will not mail them to you. AWARDS Awards will be given out when we have enough finishers in to fill the categories. Medals will be given out to the top three finishers in each category. Walkers are encouraged to participate; however, you should be able to complete the 5.5/2.8 miles at a 16 minute mile pace or under to receive an official time.
